HALL CO. SCHOOLS CLOSED MON.; GAINESVILLE OPEN

GAINESVILLE - Hall County schools will be closed Monday. The decision was announced late Sunday afternoon by Supt. Will Schofield.

"Our transportation department has spent the day checking routes and we have concluded we have at least 30 secondary roads we cannot send buses down (Monday) morning," Schofield said. "I apologize in advance for the inconvenience, but we will continue to make these decisions with safety being our primary factor."

GAINESVILLE SCHOOLS

Gainesville schools will be open and "observe regular school hours," Supt. Merrianne Dyer said.

"Parents at Enota Multiple Intelligences Academy are advised that the parent drop off area will be re-directed to the front of the school," Dr. Dyer added. "Employees at Enota are advised to park in the front parking area or the streets adjacent to the school. The rear parking and driveway will be closed."

Dyer added that Gainesville Middle School buses will use the Jesse Jewell entrance only Monday.

"Motorists on Jesse Jewell and Enota Avenue are advised that there may be delays in the area from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and may want to take alternate routes."

OTHER CLOSINGS, DELAYED OPENINGS, ETC.

North Georgia Technical College- Clarkesville/Taccoa campuses will delay their opening until 12:00 noon; day classes have been cancelled at the Blairsville campus; the campus will open at 5:00 p.m. Monday.

North Georgia College & State University will delay opening on Monday, January 11, until 10:00 a.m.

The Academy Child Development Center-Center will be open; Georgia Pre-K will be closed Monday.

Challenged Child and Friends-closed Monday.

Children of Grace Pre-school-closed Monday.

North Georgia Christian School-classes cancelled Monday.

Jubilee Christian Academy-closed Monday.

Hall County middle school basketball games
scheduled for Monday are cancelled.

The West Hall High School field trip to the College YES YOU CAN DAY in Atlanta for Monday has been CANCELLED.
