His Dad, Mike Grindle, said his driver son is ready and so is his pro late model car
Chestnut Mountain - Many professional stock car race drivers start early and 15 year old Dalton Grindle, getting ready to drive for Jim Waters Motors Company this weekend, says he wants race driving as a career. Grindle says he plans to win Speedfest at Lanier Speedway in Hall County this weekend.

“I’ll just watch out for the big ones, not tear up the car and maybe win this thing,” he said.

His Dad, Mike Grindle, said his driver son is ready and so is his Pro-Late model car. For the Grindles stock car racing is ‘all in the family’.

“This is our biggest race of the year,” Grindle said. “We’re got a good car and we’ve run good. Dalton started when he was eight years old in quarter midgets, we moved up to Legends and now he’s in the Pro-Late Models and he’s running this weekend at Lanier.”

Grindle said his car finished well last year in the Speedfest in 13th place moving up from 32nd place. The Pro Late Models run Sunday at the Speedway in two races during Speedfest weather permiting.
