Former Gainesville assistant city mgr. takes Forsyth Co. job

CUMMING - A former assistant Gainesville city manager is the only finalist for Forsyth County's deputy county manager.

Tim Merritt will be responsible for working with the county manager and senior management in Forsyth County in developing county programs. In addition, he will be directly involved in coordinating economic and tourism development.

Merritt has more than 21 years of experience in government positions.

According to county policy, today’s announcement signals the start of the 14-day period of notice of the naming of a finalist. After that period, a formal employment contract can be executed by both parties.
