OAKWOOD - The man killed when he was hit by a car in Oakwood late Friday afternoon was Harvey Lee Jackson, 61, of Oakwood.
Hall County Sheriff's Col. Jeff Strickland said the accident occurred just after 5:00 near Plainview Road.
"Upon arrival, our officers discovered that a pedestrian had been run over in a driveway," Strickland said. "The pedestrian was dead on the scene of the accident."
He said sheriff's investigators and officials with the Georgia State Patrol are looking into the cause of the accident.
Strickland said late Friday it was too early to determine whether or not criminal charges will be filed against the driver.
Traffic on Atlanta Highway was stopped for a time as emergency personnel responded to the scene.
