WHHS students among GLCCC Art/Essay Contest winnersBy Ken Stanford Staff ATLANTA - Two West Hall High School 9th-graders are among the winners in the Georgia Latino Complete Count Committee (GLCCC) Art/Essay Contest.
The purpose of the contest was to raise community awareness about the importance of the 2010 Census. The winners include the following: There were 29 total entries from across the state and well over 3,000 votes cast online. The contest was open to all students and adults residing in the state of Georgia regardless of race or ethnicity. All entries were judged by official GLCCC judges and by voters on www.latino2010.org. To see all the entries, please visit www.latino2010.org The winners will be honored at a luncheon reception in their honor on Saturday in Chamblee. The "Si Te Cuentan, Tu Cuentas!" Art/Essay Contest was funded in part by the Southern Coalition for Social Justice and the New World Foundation.
