GAINESVILLE–Belk recently completed a major expansion and remodeling of its ladies shoe department at Belk’s women’s store at Lakeshore Mall. The $1 million project also created a new fashion jewelry area and updated the store’s accessories and handbags areas.
“We believe customers will love the exciting changes we’ve made in our women’s store,” said Lisa Lassiter, vice president and regional store manager for the Belk North Atlanta Region. “We have a brand new ladies shoe department that’s been greatly expanded in size to more than 8,500-square-feet of space. This allows us to offer a much larger selection of top ladies shoe brands and styles. We’ve also updated our accessories department and created a modern fashion jewelry area with new open display fixtures designed to make shopping easier and more convenient.”
The store will celebrate completion of the remodeling project with a Grand Opening party on Thursday, September 8, from 5 to 9 p.m. The event will feature music, refreshments, vendor give-aways, and register-to-win drawings for prizes that include shoes, cosmetics and accessories items. Participating customers will also receive a discount coupon good for 20 percent off of regular and sale-priced merchandise in the shoes, fine jewelry and accessories departments during the event. Customers who stop by the Estée Lauder counter during the event will receive a free bottle of Advanced Night Repair (ANR) while supplies last.

Belk has served the Gainesville community since 1934. It opened its first store at Colonial Mall – Lakeshore in 1973 and expanded with the addition of its men’s, kids and home store in 1994 with a combined size of 116,000-square-feet of space.
