Suspect at large in Towns Co. bank robberyBy Katie Crumley Access Insider HIAWASSEE - A Towns County bank was robbed Monday afternoon, and the suspect in the case remains at large.
Towns County Chief Deputy Jeff Edge said a white male between 25 to 35 years of age walked into the Citizen South Bank in Hiawassee around 2 p.m., demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. Edge said the suspect is believed to be between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10 inches tall and between 165 and 175 pounds. Authorities say he was wearing an orange polo type shirt, khaki pants, sunglasses and a beige baseball cap with a "Relay-for-life" logo on it. He said the Towns County Sheriff's Department, the Hiawassee Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation are all investigating. © Copyright 2013 AccessNorthGa.com
