CUMMING- The new Old Atlanta Park located on Nichols Road in Forsyth County officially opened Friday becoming the latest featuring a green space style passive use park.
The approximately 39-acre park is one of four that was funded by a combination of the Parks, Recreation and Green Space Bond, Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) and Impact Fees.
The park has two pavilions, a natural playground, a 1 mile walking trial and a special area for children six years old and younger called a "tot lot".
Old Atlanta Park is the final of four new green space passive use parks recently opened by Forsyth County. The other three parks – Haw Creek Park, Chattahoochee Pointe and Caney Creek Preserve were also recently opened.
