GDOT awards $55M+ for statewide work, $9M for Forsyth Co.By Ken Stanford Staff ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Friday awarded 17 contracts for more than $55 million in new transportation infrastructure improvements across the state, including two for $9 million for work in Forsyth County.
The Forsyth County projects call for $4.6 million worth of improvements to the intersection of Bethelview Road and State Route 9 and a related $4.4 million widening of Bethelview from State Route 9 to Castleberry Road. Friday's bid awards also included a $15 million interchange widening and reconstruction in Gordon County in northweat Georgia on State Route 136 from Camp Creek to U.S. Highway 41/State Route 3 and $7.8 million in drainage improvements along State Route 49 in Peach County in middle Georgia.
