Fricke wins Georgia open in Braselton

BRASELTON -- Jonathan Fricke of Snellville shot a final round of 2-under par 70 on Sunday for a tournament total of 5-under par 283 to win the 59th annual Georgia Open presented by Club Car conducted at The Legends at Chateau Elan in Braselton.

Fricke played solid golf throughout the week and finished with 16 birdies and was tied for first in that catergory. For his efforts Fricke earned the first place check of $6,000.

Two area competitors also finished their tournaments on Sunday, as Cumming resident Gene Siller put up an 80 in the final round to finish 23-over. Meanwhile, Gainesville's Rodger Hogan carded an 86 to finish 28-over.
