It Irks MeBy Jim Threlkeld Staff It seems the way of life in the public arena is to smear someone with falsehoods whether they are true or not.
For many years, Martha Zoller and I have been friends. I think I have discussed everything under the sun with her and 99% of the time our minds have met on the same path. She is a staunch conservative and so am I. I am not in favor of Gay Marriage nor is she. I deplore abortion and so does she. She has been endorsed by Georgia Right to Life and I can assure you they do not hand out their endorsements lightly. I know that as a fact as I am good friends with the past president of Georgia Right to Life. What irks me so much is that some people think if they say bad things long enough and often enough about someone, the gullible will believe what is said. Unfortunately, in the current run-off election between Martha Zoller and Doug Collins, early in the game Mr. Collins started listening to old tapes of Martha’s radio show and selected statements out of context that could be used against her. Evidently, many people have believed the flyers Mr. Collins has sent out and that is a shame as Martha does not deserve the raking over the coals she has had to endure.
