Volleyball: GHS hands No. 5 West Hall first loss

OAKWOOD -- The Gainesvile girls volleyball team sweep a tri-match with Rabun County and Class AAA No. 5 West Hall Thursday night.

The Lady Elephants (4-2) avenged an earlier loss to West Hall last week and was the first loss for the Lady Spartans (6-1) in 2012.

Gainesville held off Rabun County 25-17, 23-25, 25-13 in the first match and then beat West Hall 25-19, 17-25, 25-23 in the nightcap.

West Hall beat Rabun County 25-8, 25-12 in a quick straight-sets win.

Gainesville next will play host to Johnson and Cedar Shoals next Thursday while West Hall will play host to Pickens and Chestatee next Thursday.
